Bennett Donaldson is the President and Founder of J.B. Donaldson Company, a leading Michigan-based general contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, design-build construction solutions. A fourth-generation builder, Bennett brings deep-rooted industry knowledge and over 25 years of leadership experience to the company.
He began his “education” as a laborer for his father’s construction company. As time passed, he moved into superintendent and project management positions before finally branching out on his own in 1997. This comprehensive, ground-up experience shaped his practical approach to construction and continues to influence how the company operates today, with a focus on quality, accountability, and partnership. Under his leadership, J.B. Donaldson Company has grown into a dynamic, full-service firm known for its collaborative culture and client-first mentality. Bennett is a high-energy, results-driven executive who excels at building strong teams, fostering innovation, and empowering employees at all levels to lead and contribute. With over 25 years of construction industry experience, Chris has built a reputation as a skilled, hands-on leader — progressing from superintendent to project manager, Chris now serves as the Director of Construction at J.B. Donaldson Company. Known for his patience and dedication, Chris excels at training and mentoring new Project Engineers, helping develop the next generation of construction professionals.
Chris’s career began installing the underground conduit that powered the former Wonder Bread factory, a site that now powers the Motor City Casino. Since then, he has managed projects across more than 30 states, including light industrial facilities, 700-unit multi-family apartment communities, retail centers, country clubs, and high-rise renovations for Fortune 500 clients. Chris has overseen construction projects for major clients such as GM, Ally Financial, Ulta Beauty, BCBS Michigan, and Walmart. His extensive hands-on experience combined with a B.A. in Project Management provides him with a deep understanding of diverse construction methodologies and the ability to think creatively to deliver exceptional project outcomes.

Jack serves as the Director of Sales at J.B. Donaldson Company, where he blends his construction management experience with a background in sales and entrepreneurship to drive growth across the company’s industrial, commercial, and multifamily sectors.

A graduate of U of D Jesuit High School & Academy and Wayne State University, Jack applies a hands-on, client-first approach that connects project execution with business development. His understanding of construction operations and deal structure allows him to bridge the gap between concept and completion — helping clients achieve both vision and value.

Kristen brings over a decade of executive-level experience and has been a valued member of the J.B. Donaldson team for more than five years. Though she joined the company without a construction background, she quickly became an integral part of the company’s accounting and property management operations.

She began with accounts payable, managing vendor documentation, invoicing, and insurance compliance. As her role expanded, she took on greater responsibility within the property management division, where she oversees daily operations, tenant coordination, and vendor relationships. In addition to her operational expertise, Kristen plays a key role in advancing company culture and leadership through her work as J.B. Donaldson’s EOS Integrator.

As Controller at J.B. Donaldson Company, Jen plays a critical role in ensuring the day-to-day operations of the company run efficiently and effectively. David is the Director of Field Operations for J. B. Donaldson Company, bringing more than 40 years of hands-on experience in the construction industry. He ensures every project runs safely, stays on schedule, and meets the company’s high standards for quality. Throughout his career, David has managed a wide range of commercial, industrial, multifamily, and institutional projects — from major renovations to large-scale new builds. Known for solving problems before they become headaches, he values clear communication and teamwork, working closely with clients, contractors, and field crews to keep projects running smoothly.

With over 35 years of comprehensive construction industry experience, Scott is a seasoned Senior Project Manager known for his exceptional expertise and leadership. Holding a Michigan Builder’s License since 1992, Scott brings unparalleled knowledge spanning budgeting, forecasting, estimating, and project execution.
Throughout his distinguished career, Scott has held diverse roles including Director of Field Operations, Lead Estimator, Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, and Project Executive. His broad experience covers a wide range of construction sectors such as commercial retail, office, healthcare, education, and industrial projects.
Known for his exceptional organizational skills and strategic approach, Scott consistently delivers projects on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.

Bill is the Director of Multifamily Operations with more than three decades of experience overseeing large-scale commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments across Michigan. His expertise spans all phases of construction management—from estimating, purchasing, and scheduling to design coordination and field supervision. Throughout his career, Bill has led high-value projects such as the $70 million Brush & Watson mixed-use complex in Detroit, the $48 million All Seasons of Ann Arbor senior living community, and the $20 million Packard Row Apartments. Known for his hands-on leadership, attention to detail, and commitment to collaboration, he consistently ensures that every project meets client expectations in both quality and budget.
Bill’s background includes senior roles with many local industry leaders, as well as extensive experience with design/build firms and residential developers. His strong communication skills and ability to liaise effectively between owners, architects, and subcontractors have made him a trusted partner in bringing complex developments to life. Bill attended Western Michigan University, majoring in Construction Supervision and Management, and continues to apply his technical expertise and leadership to drive excellence on every project he manages.

A graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in Construction Management, Mike has dedicated his career to delivering high-quality, large-scale construction developments across a wide range of sectors. His portfolio includes multi-million-dollar design/build projects such as manufacturing facilities, senior living and apartment complexes, condominium developments, healthcare clinics, educational institutions, and commercial retail spaces. Mike is known for his expertise in contract negotiation, cost control, and the successful administration of multi-million-dollar budgets. A strong communicator and collaborative leader, Mike excels at aligning project stakeholders—including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients—to ensure seamless execution and optimal results. His deep industry knowledge and commitment to quality have made him a trusted leader in the construction field.

Scott brings over 10 years of experience to J.B. Donaldson Company, combining his background as a Project Engineer with his current role as Project Manager on some of the firm’s largest and most complex projects. A Michigan State University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in public policy, Scott leverages his analytical skills and industry knowledge to support seamless project execution.
At JBD, Scott plays a key role in estimating, project management, and coaching / mentoring our project engineers. One of Scott’s career highlights includes his work on the Orchard Lake Country Club renovation, a project especially meaningful to him as an avid golfer. Scott’s passion for quality craftsmanship and client-focused results make him a valued member of the JBD team.

Brenden brings over 10 years of diverse experience across various construction-related trades to his role as Project Manager in the Multi-Family division at J.B. Donaldson Company. Known for his dedication and resourcefulness, Brenden is the reliable go-to team member who steps up wherever help is needed to keep projects moving smoothly.

Based primarily in the office, Brenden manages critical tasks such as issuing contracts, pricing materials, and meticulously tracking project details — ensuring a seamless transition from concept and planning to field execution. His strong organizational skills and attention to detail help maintain accuracy and efficiency throughout every stage of construction.
His hands-on approach and collaborative mindset make him a valuable asset to the JBD team and a key contributor to successful project delivery.

Sean brings a diverse mix of construction experience to JB Donaldson, mainly through his work on large industrial and commercial projects. A graduate of Eastern Michigan University, Sean has developed a strong background in project coordination, scheduling, documentation management, and supporting successful project execution from preconstruction through completion.

In his role, Sean works closely with project managers, subcontractors, and field teams to help ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to a high standard. With frequent site visits and hands-on exposure to active job sites, he has developed a strong understanding of construction processes, project workflows, and team collaboration. Sean is committed to contributing to successful project outcomes and building strong professional relationships within the industry.

Ricardo is a Detroit native who attended Michigan State University, where he studied Construction Management and laid the foundation for his career in the building industry. He began his journey with J.B. Donaldson Company as a Project Superintendent, gaining hands-on experience managing field operations for notable projects including Lume Coldwater, Lume Traverse City, and the large-scale Legends Grove Apartments in Ann Arbor. He now serves as a Project Engineer, continuing to contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality commercial developments.

As the in-house designer at J.B. Donaldson Company, she leads the design process from concept to completion, ensuring each space is not only functional and efficient but also visually compelling and aligned with the client’s vision.
Known for her collaborative approach and creative problem-solving, Karen excels at translating client needs into tailored design solutions. Her work is defined by a balance of aesthetics, practicality, and cost-conscious decision-making — resulting in spaces that are both inspiring and built for long-term use.

With over 45 years of experience in the construction and real estate industries, Joe “Cool” brings unmatched field expertise and steady leadership to his current role as Property Manager at J.B. Donaldson Company. Joe began his career as a laborer and steadily advanced through the ranks — from Superintendent to Construction Manager — before ultimately transitioning into property management.
In his current role, Joe oversees the ongoing operations, maintenance, and performance of the company’s property portfolio. His deep understanding of building systems, construction quality, and site logistics gives him a unique edge in ensuring properties are managed efficiently and maintained to the highest standards.
Known for his calm demeanor and practical, hands-on approach, Joe remains a trusted leader within the organization. Joe’s long history in the field and his commitment to excellence continue to make a lasting impact across all aspects of the company’s property management efforts.

With over 10 years of experience in construction accounting, Heather brings both expertise and enthusiasm to her work. She discovered her passion for accounting later in life while studying at Schoolcraft College and eventually found her niche in the construction industry. Outside of work, Heather enjoys going to concerts with her husband and friends, baking (especially cupcakes!), and taking on the challenge of planning and hosting gatherings.

Christine serves as JB Donaldson’s Project Coordinator, supporting multifamily projects through budgeting, contract administration, change order coordination, and day-to-day support for Project Managers. A Michigan State University graduate with a background spanning operations and project management, she’s known for her organization and attention to detail, and holds her OSHA 30 certification.

Outside of work, Christine enjoys time with family, fostering dogs, running a small dog-sitting business, and supporting Detroit sports.
